The specifications for C2-GPU compute instances have been changed. C2-GPU previously used partitioned NVIDIA A100 GPUs. The partitions have now been removed so C2-GPU instances now utilise an entire NVIDIA A100 80GB GPU.
The CPU core and memory specifications have also been increased to reflect this change.
The GPU change means that the NVIDIA drivers supplied with by operating system vendors can now be used, or standard drivers can be downloaded directly from NVIDIA’s website. This also removes the GPU licensing requirement for C2-GPU.
C2-GPU instances created before this date will no longer start or operate correctly and must be removed or resized. If they are resized then all existing NVIDIA drivers must beremoved from the operating system in the instance and the standard NVIDIA drivers installed as per the GPU documentation.
